PENTZEK, EWALD (May 16, 1936 - March 31, 2013):
After a life filled with courage, honour, love and dedication to his family, Ewald left this world surrounded by his family. He is loved and survived by his faithful wife, Heidi, who was by his side taking care of his every need during his last, difficult days. Ewald was the beloved father of Liz, Reiny (wife Trish), David (wife Voula) and the grandfather of Natina, Arielle and Sarah. He is also survived by his brothers, Dr. Joe Grabiec, from Abbotsford, B.C. and Helmut and Walter from Germany.
Ewald immigrated from Germany in 1952 and settled in Winnipeg where he met his wife, Heidi, of 56 years. He worked for Dominion Bronze/Indal Wall for over 40 years where he became Vice-President of Production. In 1991, Ewald, Heidi and their sons moved to St. Catharines, Ontario where Ewald established his successful business RDE Consulting with his sons. He took great pride in his sons' stewardship of the business that he launched.
Ewald was a very dedicated husband and father who worked hard and tirelessly to provide for his family. Ewald enjoyed cooking with his wife but took special pride in whipping up big batches of his "famous" pancakes. He looked back fondly on times spent boating, fishing, vacationing in Punta Cana and in recent years enjoyed his backyard "oasis" with his pool and hot-tub.
He will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
