Pik Yuk Chang

CHANG, Pik Yuk - Born February 5, 1931 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Died March 14, 2016 St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. It is with great sadness that we announce the departure of Mrs. Pik-Yuk Chang. She booked passage for the sweet hereafter on March, 14, 2016. Mrs. Chang's present resting place is at the NIAGARA STREET CHAPEL of the BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 424 Niagara Street, St. Catharines, Ontario (905-646-6322). The viewing of the casket will occur on March 25, 2016 from 2 pm to 4 pm. Funeral services will be held at the chapel starting at 10 am on Saturday, March, 26, 2016 followed by a cremation ceremony at 11 am. A reception will follow. Mrs. Chang was the loving, devoted wife to Dr. Shao-Chien Chang, Professor Emeritus of Brock University (Mathematics) who preceded her passing on January, 6, 2004. She is survived by her two sons Edwin (Susanne) and Wayne (Liza) as well as her three grandchildren: Sherri, Elyott and Tailynn. Surviving siblings of Mrs. Chang include Aunty #2 Pik Kum Chan and Family; Uncle #4 Fook Hin Chan and Family; Aunty #6 Pik Wan Chan and Family, all of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. All who knew her recognized an exuberant, sparkling existence who gifted her world with warmth, joy, laughter and family. Those who entered her company encountered one who taught Life how to live, who showed the stars luminescence, who humored souls stable, who soothed souls wandering. All this was well recognized not only in Canada but across the globe in Malaysia. Mrs. Chang shared a special bond with kin from the old country. She is cherished by her 11 nieces and nephews and their spouses, by her 15 grandnieces and grandnephews and their spouses and by her 4 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Her adieu marks a mourning, a loss. Our worlds are now lesser; our shadows shade longer. We wait for a later reunion. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to expand the existing Shao Chien Chang Book Bursary at Brock University. Please donate online at www.brocku.ca/donate or by phone at 905-688-5550 ext. 4190. Cheques can be made out to "Brock University" with “In memory of Mrs. Pik Yuk Chang” in the reference line and can be mailed to Development and Alumni Relations, Brock University, 1812 Sir Isaac Brock Way, St.Catharines, ON L2S 3A1
