On a beautiful fall afternoon, surrounded by his family, on Saturday November 16th, 2013. George Armitage passed away after a lengthy illness in St. Catharines a day shy of his 90th birthday. Deeply saddened is his wife, Yvonne, of 68 years and his children Pauline (Bill), Cheryl (Ron), David (Glenna) and Ruth (Perry). Proud Papa to Kim, Andrea, Mike, Bill, Janet, Matthew, Chris, Kate and Kyle. Survived by nine great-grandchildren. Also remembered by his brother Bob and sister-in-law Bev. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place at Carleton United Church early in the new year. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or World Vision would be appreciated by the family.
